Planning a day at the races, what to wear to a day at the races – Fashion Styling advice from Sartorial Image Consultant…

A day at the races is a great event for those racing enthusiasts or a chance for ‘Colts’, ‘Mares’ and ‘Fillies’ to get dressed up and stand out from the crowd!

Do you want some Style Tips from a Professional Image Consultant who has clients in London, Middlesex and Surrey? Read below…

All eyes on you…

What to wear to a day at the races….Do you want to get your picture on social media for ‘best dressed’? If you want to avoid being on the ‘worst dressed’ list contact me for styling advice.

What to expect from your Styling session

I can source items from head to toe to compliment your style, suit your body type and skin tone.  My services extend to men and women.

Styling tips for the ‘Stallions, Colts or Geldings’

  • When are you planning to visit Ascot?
  • Which Enclosure?
  • Remember there are rules for how you should dress in each Enclosure… get in touch to find out more
  • Hiring or buying a suit?
  • Off the peg or bespoke?

Once I know what your requirements are, we can plan your colour scheme:

  • Which colours suit your body type and skin tone?
  • What’s the best style of waistcoat for your body shape?
  • How to accessorise with ties, tie pins & pocket squares?
  • Contrasting waistcoat colour or play it safe?

Styling tips for the ‘Fillies’

  • When are you planning to visit Ascot?
  • Which Enclosure?
  • Remember there are rules for how you should dress in each Enclosure… get in touch to find out more
  • If it’s not Ascot, what race event are you attending?
  • Special Event, a Wedding or Garden Party?

Once I know these details, we can plan your outfit:

  • Two piece or a dress?
  • Designer or High Street, we can mix it up to suit all budgets
  • Flats or heels?
  • Statement hat or fascinator?
  • What’s your style, muted classic tones or bold and bright….? We can discuss options or maybe you’d like to try something different from your usual style

I style clients of all ages, dress size, body shape and skin tone. No task is too big or too small, it’s all about what you want to achieve from your styling session

Royal Ascot is fast approaching or maybe you have another event planned…what are you going wear?

If you find planning your outfit a major headache, then hiring a Professional Fashion Stylist is the answer.

Is this you…. trawling the shops for hours on end, sweating, frantically trying on multiple outfits. Everyone knows those cramped changing rooms do not highlight your best features, but highlight the parts of your body you hate. If you have a perfect body then you must be a Victoria Secret model 😉 I have offered styling advice to hundreds of people and I haven’t met anyone who loves every part of their body yet!

If you’re lucky, finally you decide on the right outfit….. phew!!! Now which hat, which shoes, which handbag??? PANIC!!! Or for men you just grab the first suit you see and say “that’ll do, let’s go”

If this isn’t you, maybe you don’t need to hire a Professional Fashion Stylist. BUT, if you don’t have the time to source an outfit then I can help.

I will plan EVERYTHING for you in advance. We will already know what we are shopping for before we even arrive at the shops / boutiques. All you need to do is try on what I’ve selected. I will never force you to wear anything you are not comfortable with, but I will encourage you to trust my professional judgement. I’m honest, but my job is to create outfits which make you look your absolute best and make you feel amazing.

You decide which event to attend and I’ll do the rest…

Wardrobe Review and Personal Shopping examples

Wardrobe Review and Personal Shopping examples – Sartorial Image Consultant

Fashion Styling is a very personal and private experience, most of my clients do not wish to feature visually on my website and you don’t have to either. The pictures I take are for you to keep to look back on how your experience transpired, to document the changes we achieved in your appearance and more importantly how it changed the way you feel about yourself.

Please see below examples of my work with Liz and Kristin, who kindly agreed to sharing their experiences, so you can get a feel for what is involved when booking a styling session with me……

Liz’s brief was to find a smart casual outfit for a work event

Wardrobe Review and Personal Shopping examples – Sartorial Image Consultant

After our initial consultation and wardrobe review we agreed her preferred style is Tomboy.

We looked through her wardrobe together and I asked her to put together outfits she would normally wear. Liz has a style of her own which suits her, I just showed her how to put different pieces together plus adding accessories to change the look. Liz’s wardrobe is not extensive, due to her career being health and fitness related.

I provided Liz with a story board:

We arranged our shopping trip in Kingston Upon Thames, which was quick and successful. Liz and I worked together well… I gave her free reign to pick out items she liked.

We decided to take a t-shirt from Liz’s existing wardrobe with us; this provided a key piece to create the perfect outfit around in order to keep within the agreed budget.

We still used the time for Liz to try on outfits she wouldn’t normally pick out, which she loved.

Liz decided on buying new trousers which looked great with her t-shirt. I finished the look by adding a simple black jacket, black pumps and chunky chain jewellery which was all within budget.

See below the final outfit:

Kristin – Wedding and wardrobe review

Kristin’s brief was to find a Wedding outfit; it was a low key event and she wanted to be able to wear the dress again.

After our initial consultation we agreed Kristin’s style was Boho.
